Vacation!

The Great Wall

This establishment surrounded by the wall was used as a camp.

October 1 was China's birthday celebration and we saw a mass wedding ceremony at the Great Wall. Many couples plan their weddings on this day for good fortune.

Next we saw the Ming Tombs.

These are some artifacts that belonged to the Mings, such as pottery, jade, silk ceremonial clothing, headgear, armor and weapons.

The tombs were set up in alignment according to Feng Shui for good fortune and balance. Also behind this central building is another tomb buried in the mountain, left untouched. No one know where the entrance is. This is where the first emporer of the Ming Dynasty is buried.

We saw an amazing Chinese acrobat show.

There are 12 acrobats on this bike!

This is the Temple of Heaven, as well as other buildings surrounding it.

The columns are amazingly huge inside. Also, this temple was built "tongue in groove", without nails.

This is Tianamen Square. Also, here is our tour guide, Ken.

Here we are heading into the Forbidden City.

This building was covered because they were renovating.

Finally, we visited the Summer Palace, which has a huge park and many buildings. Many people come here to relax or play games.

This is a ceiling.

Here we are about to get on a boat to see more of the Summer Palace.
